Biography
Founded in 2019, the Geri L. Nolan scholarship is in honor of the legacy of the Late Geri L. Nolan (loving and devoted mother and grandmother), who wholeheartedly believed in young women pursuing the education. It was Geri’s desire that every young woman have the opportunity to follow after their dream and accomplish personal success. This scholarship was created to provide financial assistance to African American women between the ages of 19-27 and is given annually.
Eligibility Includes
- Candidate is an African American female, Ages 19 – 27
- Candidate is a current undergrad or graduate student enrolled in a two-year or four-year college/university
- Candidate must possess a Grade Point Average of 2.5 or above
- Candidate must be a united States citizen
- Candidate must complete application and essay (500 words or less) by deadline

From a financial standpoint, what impact would this scholarship have on your education? and state any special, personal , or family circumstances affecting your need for financial assistance
Guidelines & Award:
- If selected, student will receive a $500 scholarship award. This scholarship can not be combined with any other scholarship
Deadline:
- Application, essay, and copy of transcript is to be submitted no later than March 24th , late applications will not be considered
Payment of Award:
- Payment will be made in one installment. Candidate will receive scholarship award via mail. Check is mailed to the recipient’s home address and is made payable to the school for the student.
